We went camping! We weren't sure what to expect but Cecilia rocked at camping. I think she could stare at tree tops for hours- as a matter of fact I think I could too! We spent two nights along the Metolius River for the wedding weekend of our friends Nik and Erin. Cecilia slept in between us in her little portable co-sleeper thingy and we cuddled in the morning hours in my sleeping bag. It was pretty great waking up together under the pine trees. tmi alert- she also became much much much better at breastfeeding since warming up bottles camp style is a little less than easy. I think it really helped her be comfortable, as well, in an unfamiliar place. So- that was a great trip!
What else...
She's just overall really great- she sleeps good chunks of time so we are never super tired and she's been eating well. She's much more focused on us now and is taking shape to be an interactive individual! She smiles when she wakes up and coos when she's chillin in between you know- poopin and eating and sleepin... baby stuff.
What else...
We scheduled her heart surgery for July 30! She is doing really well and we aren't having any problems- we just want to get the surgery done and move on with the rest of our summer. It will be super interesting to see what the improved heart does to her little baby persona. More crying? More hungry? More awake? More super hero? We shall see! We go one week before to a surgical consultation where we'll get all our questions answered and get an overview of the whole shebang. Mark and I are also going to give blood so she can have a 'directed donor' supply straight from her momma and daddy. I admit it is pretty intense and there is a little Sara inside my head freaking out but I'm actually really good with it. This is something that needs to be done and will greatly improve her quality of life so I'm pretty amped for her even if it means a little discomfort to get there. And the discomfort I'm referring to is hers not mine- I would cut my right arm off to have her not have these problems but life is very strange sometimes and we just gotta roll with it. Everything is going to be okay!
It would be really cool- if you want- to make yourself a little heart for Cecilia and just have it around so you might remember to send her some super hero energies on July 30. Use whatever you've got around- yarn, rocks, paper, boogers. Just remember to send in a pic please! I will post them all on the blog as we are celebrating her new 4 chambered heart- no more turtle heart! We go for the consult on the 24th and she'll get her blood taken and such so she may need some sent that day too! (not boogers- the energies)
aaaaand here are some baby pictures yayayayayaya!!!
